Four Reasons Brochures are Still Relevant

In an era dominated by digital marketing, the humble brochure remains a powerful tool for businesses to connect with their audience. But how effective are brochures in today’s sales & marketing landscape?

There are many people who still love the feel of opening up the Sunday paper, reading a magazine in the checkout line, or folding back the cover of a paperback. The same can be said for brochures, which are still a powerful marketing tool. While websites are a convenient reference, a printed brochure allows prospective clients to review your material without web-based distractions, and actually holding it in their hands allows for a colorful, tangible reminder of what your business can do for them.

In addition to fostering brand recognition, brochures continue to be great marketing tools for the following reasons:

  1. A website provides a comprehensive overview of a company’s services, but a brochure can be created for a target market, a particular service area, or even a specific client.

  2. Despite what we want to be true, not all potential clients are technologically savvy –because they’re not in an industry where computers are necessary for day-to-day business, or because they’re, ahem, a bit older—and some might appreciate the throwback to the salesman leave-behind rather than a “check out our website.”

  3. There are countless options for paper weight, size, shape, and finish; therefore, brochure printing can work around any budget.

  4. Trade shows and conferences are still very relevant methods of reaching would-be clients, and having a brochure available can be seen as an indication that your business is successful. Also, providing a takeaway that they can revisit later is an extension of your in-person meeting.

A brochure might not reach everyone, but there’s always a chance it can end up on the desk of the right person who will pick it up and say, “Hey, let’s call these people.” So, don’t just automatically direct someone to your website time after time. Hand them a beautifully designed and printed brochure that shares the story of your business and how you can help them achieve their goals.

Why Physical Marketing Materials Outperform Digital in Key Moments

In an era dominated by email campaigns, social media, and digital advertising, it’s easy to assume that marketing has become almost entirely digital. Yet physical marketing materials continue to deliver powerful results, especially in moments when attention, credibility, and memorability matter most.

Want to Improve Compliance, Security & Access? Try High-Volume Scanning

Across manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services, paper documents remain deeply embedded in daily operations. From production and quality records to patient files and financial documentation, organizations in highly regulated industries generate and store vast amounts of paper. While these records are critical, managing them in physical form introduces significant compliance risks, security challenges, and operational inefficiencies.

The Relevance of Paper Documents in the Legal Discovery Process

Although emails, texts, and cloud-based data are commonplace, paper documents continue to play an essential and significant role in the legal discovery process. Many legal matters still involve a combination of old and new records, and the authenticity, integrity, and legal weight of physical documents cannot always be fully replaced by digital equivalents. That’s why Avalon still provides paper discovery – scanning and digitizing paper records – in addition to electronic discovery, to our clients.
